Leslie Penni is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She earned her MSW at Boston University and has worked with a culturally diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults in Boston and surrounding communities. Her work in a school environment and in the court system as a forensic clinician has allowed her to gain clinical training and expertise in the areas of early attachment and child development, parenting, adoption, trauma, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Her clinical interests also include perinatal mental health, anxiety and depressive disorders, and life transitions. Leslie integrates a variety of theoretical approaches in her work with clients including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and insight-oriented techniques. She believes that using a collaborative, strength-based approach with clients in a safe, nurturing environment allows for optimal healing and growth. Leslie incorporates her experience and training in the practice of yoga, mindfulness and meditation in her work with clients whenever possible.
