Quinn Hartman, LCWS

I am a queer and transgender-identified therapist who works with adult individuals on a range of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, identity challenges, non-traditional relationships, and religious trauma. I have a special passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and young adults.

My approach is grounded in the belief that therapy is about more than addressing symptoms or fixing problems —  it is about coming into a true and empowered sense of self. I will work with you to develop the self-knowledge to understand your experiences, values, and identity; the self-compassion to be present with the full range of human emotions; and the confidence to direct the course of your own healing and growth. I deeply understand the importance of feeling seen, understood, and affirmed in the therapeutic space, and I work collaboratively and transparently with my clients, employing a range of strengths-based, person-centered, and emotion-focused approaches to tailor the experience of therapy to each individual’s needs and priorities. My style is compassionate and warm, yet direct, authentic, and often infused with humor, making therapy a relatable, engaging, and empowering experience.

Modalities that inform my practice include ACT, CBT, IFS, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, existential therapy, and relational therapy. I also draw from biopsychosocial, queer, feminist, and anti-oppressive models that acknowledge the role that social systems and structures play in shaping our mental health. I use all of these approaches together to help my client’s better understand the factors influencing their lives and build a sense of purpose, agency, and power.
