I am a seasoned and goal-oriented therapist with decades of experience in the mental health field.
There are three main principles that guide my work…
I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is the key to fostering growth. I take a holistic approach by considering each person in their environment and examining strengths vs. challenges in their daily lives. I believe the body-mind connection needs strengthening to promote sound mental health. In sessions, I focus on creating an emotionally safe environment where people are empowered to practice open and direct communication, as addressing multiple factors is necessary to promote emotional balance and healing.
Although my work is eclectic, psychodynamic, and individualized, I am trained in
hypnotherapy and a member of the New England Society for Clinical Hypnosis (NESCH). In addition to hypnotherapy, I utilize a strengths-based approach, offer supportive reflection, and utilize CBT, IFS, SFT, and many other modalities.
I work with adults ages 18 and up. My specialties include but are not limited to PTSD and other anxiety disorders, unipolar and bipolar depression, adult children of alcoholics/addicts, dual diagnosis (substance use disorder combined with other mental illnesses), chronic illness, grief, and life role transitions.
I choose to work at the Leggett Group because of their conscientious support of the values of anti-racism, anti-oppression, and support of LGBTQIA+ individuals, which align with my own values both personally and professionally.
