Allie Caulfield joins The Leggett Group as a Perinatal Fellow. She holds a BA from Trinity College, CT and an MSW from Boston College School of Social Work. She completed her internship at Boston Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Maternal Fetal Care Center (MFCC), where she supported parents through medical crisis and/or challenging prenatal diagnosis. Through this experience, she has furthered her clinical skills in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), various stressor and trauma disorders, and generalized anxiety and depressive disorders. Allie is very comfortable working with families going through complex medical situations, understanding that these stressors can impact an entire family system, especially parental relationships. Therefore, couples therapy is also an area of focus and interest.
Allie believes that each client brings a unique skillset of strengths and areas for growth. Using modalities such as CBT, EFT, psychodynamic practices, or narrative therapy, Allie will work to incorporate your individual skillset and support you through various life challenges. Allie always works using a trauma informed lens and person-in-environment understanding, keeping in mind that an individual’s story is neither singular nor static. It is her belief that all people have the ability to alter, adjust and progress in a way that they feel comfortable and confident to do so, should they choose. While therapy is often an environment built to work through one’s challenges, Allie welcomes the joys and milestone celebrations that can co-occur. Through the creation of a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, Allie views therapy as an opportunity for an individual to feel safe, supported, and encouraged to bring forth areas of stress or discomfort without fear of judgment.
Outside of the office, you can find Allie running outside, walking her dog, or spending time with family and friends.
