Lenira Monteiro, LCSW, is an MSW graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work. Lenira’s past clinical experience includes working with adults, children, and families in various settings, including outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, and residential settings. Before joining the Leggett Group, Lenira worked at Bay Cove Human Services as a clinical supervisor in the Adult Community Clinical Services program, a crisis clinician in the Boston Emergency Services Team, and a community mental health outpatient psychotherapist. Lenira is a proud immigrant; she is fluent and can provide treatment in Cape Verdean Creole and Portuguese. Lenira is passionate about developing unique treatment plans that are not only based on Evidence-Based Practices, but her patients’ unique lived experiences. Lenira’s motivation to pursue her MSW stemmed from the racial disparities in mental health care. She enjoys working with Black clients, and her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, boundaries, and self-care.
