Christine Sweeney, LICSWPsychotherapist

    Christine Sweeney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Lactation Counselor with over 25 years experience in the field of perinatal health. A graduate of Boston University School of Social Work, she began her career as an OB/GYN social worker at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston seeing families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), postpartum, and high-risk inpatient units as well as providing outpatient psychotherapy to OB/GYN patients. In 1999, she founded and continues to manage the Parent Connection at BIDMC, a unique hospital based program providing first time parents of newborns support in the adjustment to parenting through mentoring, and new moms groups. Christine leads workshops for expectant couples and has been featured on Chronicle for her work with new moms groups.
    Her expertise covers all aspects of pregnancy/postpartum and includes substance abuse and pregnancy, pregnancy loss/fetal demise, pregnancy after loss, infertility and postpartum mood disorders.
